Are any of the Pebble watches worth getting if I can get a discount?
Are they dependent on the company servers, or will they continue to work as basic notification watches without the company around? Will any of it be open sourced?
They are pretty decent and purely fine if you just want basic things like notifications and fitness tracking.
They do not rely on company servers outside of updates which shouldn't matter if there is not going to be any more updates.
Well seeing as they've been bought out by fitbit and thus are no longer supported.
Yeah, sure. Go ahead.

The death of a meme.

That watch is a legend. Someone must rewrite the closed parts of the os.
Eventually Pebble will be reborn as a brilliant GPL watch, but its price must take a journey through hell first.

no. don't get one. there's a solid chance pebble\fitbit won't come through with removing the online requirement for most services and you'll end up with a dumbwatch with 7 battery life. at that point you might as well grab a decent casio.
android users can use gadget bridge, but even that is trash at this stage
