Other day I installed CM 14.1 (Android 7.1.1) on my old Nexus 4. No Google Apps.

Battery lasts forever now, as it was GAPPS running in the background constantly sucking the battery dry. The only apps I use on my device are a custom Hacker News app, a 4chan app, and a custom weather app. I use the default CM email app, and downloaded Aurora directly from Mozilla site. None of my friends use WhatsApp or other cancer so didn't install, all 'secure' chat I do with CoyIM XMPP over Tor for work on a laptop.
