Recomend software that everyone should have installed (GNU/linux and Windows)

All these talk about better OS, better browser, better antivirus; but there is more stuff out there.

C'mon anon, dont be shy recomend some not-so-known but cool sofware thet averyone should at least take a look at.

I use Hydrus because windows search indexing is ass
Better-than-Adobe pdf reader - sumatra or whatever piques your fancy in the linux repo, it's all better than fucking adobe pdf viewer
Better-than-default image viewer - I use honeyview on Windows, and don't really have images to be opened on my linux machine
Better-than-basic text editor: notepad++ or whatever the fuck vim/emacs/bullshit

I think everyone should have a Tron game just to pass blocks of time that are empty but too short to work on something productive
