Check out some of the older sager notebook models. They have pretty good specs and I've been running manjaro on mime since the day I unpacked it. Still as fast as ever, boots up to my login screen in ~8 seconds.

When I say old I mean last year, so like what has a gtx 979. Prices have dropped since I bought mine so they're almost exactly 2K now (some are a little less).

Go for a used 2013-2015 rMBP with dedicated graphics.
