Why are compiled languages allowed for day-to-day use again?

Is there a compiled programming language that have "batteries included" just like Python?
C# and Java is kinda like that but some of their own libraries sucks and I have to rely on third party libs.
Because the big boys have work to do.

Golang was pretty much built for this sort of thing, so the standard library has everything you need to write a scrapper in a handful of lines.
And it's compiled, too.

Bare metal performance for tasks that are run literally countless times. You probably won't run your program all that much, so I don't think that matters for you.

For some recent college graduates, the only language they know is Java. Writing a scraper in java with html parsing, maybe even json parsing, could take upwards of a few thousand lines. Especially if you consider that this person probably doesn't know how to use the CLI so they write a javaawt gui with a template editor for it

why did you write a scraper in c?
the performance of c is basically negated by all the networking calls
snobol4 is the best for things like that.
C code is basically the fastest you can go, except assembly and GPU.

it's like you're not even trying

java is slow.
>>57973531
that's a bad use case for C. but yeah it would be dumb to restrict yourself to low level languages if it would be easier to use a scripting language.
