If you know java the transition is fairly easy. The syntatic constructs of both languages are so similar that you can immediately start writing basic c# code.

If you do know programming a bit, I'd suggest you think about some program to make yourself, think about what it will do, google solutions and try to understand them, That's one way to learn a language.

Make a c or c++ program that does heavy computation
Make a c++/cli wrapper for c#
Make c# frontend that communicates with wrapper

After that you should be pretty good.
