took the internal hdd out of my grandfathers pc to try to salvage his files to put on his new computer. double click the C:\Users\Pop\ folder to get to his documents and im getting this

It will take a while. Last time I moved files it took a good 30 minutes to finish with permissions, since it does it recursively.

as another anon said, just DL ubuntu live or something and boot into it. don't need to install anything and it can read the files without permission issues.
Live linux cd will solve your problems

Install Linux onto a flash drive and boot from it instead. It'll ignore any of Windows's stupid permissions.

Right click>properties>security
Then edit the permissions and take ownership of the folders and its sub contents.
