how much does a (((((technician)))))) make in your area ?
I make €1600 per month by repairing phones and laptops in a repair shop but I never really learned soldering, I'd like to go to a different country and do it but I feel like I'm being severely overpaid as it is

Bursa (a state in Turkey) paid 7.5 million dollars to redesign their website recently. Not kidding.

How does this even work? I know you don't really solder phones nowadays, but surely a laptop here and there needs some soldering, no?

he probably doesn't do any laptop repair that isn't about modular parts, got a friend that repairs stuff and they can be picky cause it's mostly iphones and galaxys with shattered screens

a lot of the time it's just piece of shit toshibas etc, maybe sometimes somebody will have to solder a DC jack, but most are removable now.
the only common soldering jobs are the ic chips on iphones, but i mainly work on the computers, so there was no need for me to learn.

this really, a lot of the time the repair is not economically viable, and we just offer the customer data recovery isntead
but you get some old people insisting we fix their 14 year old latitude

Kill yourself, you don't deserve to post either Yotsuba or Azumanga.
On topic though, I worked as a technician before I started interning actual CS related work and I got paid a minimum of $10/hr, it could go up based on the department's sales. If you worked 40 hours a week, you could make at least 1200 dollars after taxes.
