If you want a cheap upgradeable desktop replacement get a acer aspire v nitro.
Specs:
Ram: 8gb single channel with possibility to one more
CPU: i7 6700hq 2.6/35ghz 4 core 8 threads basically it's 75% of a i7 6700k
HDD: Pretty shit, but it does have a m.2 slot in the motherboard and a sata slot for a normal ssd
Graphics: Nvidia 960M and a intel hd chipset.
Ports: HDMI, Usb3.0 and 2.0, Thunderbolt 3 for that sweet eGPU upgrade if you feel like it.
all that for under a 1000$

If you are a rich fag however you could get an EVGASC 17 non compromise desktop replacement

IPS yes, I don't think it has mSATA, it's from 2011. Was absolutely fine for games of its time and a bit later. It's made of metal, so it's naturally very sturdy for its weight and size. There's two tiny spots where the coating is getting attacked by handsweat, but nothing serious. When I didn't have a desktop the only thing I missed was some RAM to support VMs, but I never really bothered to upgrade to 8GB.

I still have an old Core2Duo one on some bin, that you can still turn it on and it will work, screen was bustged though.

Sony had a ton of problems with parts of it's company never really seeing eye to eye. It's a bit better under it's new CEO, but still fairly fragmented. Especially the entertainment department.

Honestly Sony's biggest fuckup was having crappy low end products that were unable to compete at the low end against Sammy, and others. These days they are doing a bit better by just focusing on the upper mid and higher end.
