why are trackpad drivers so shit on linux?
>move finger all the way to the top
>let go
>cursor autocenters itself
>no position memory
how am i supposed to get to the task bar like this? hold it constantly while opening shit?
>>57918102
try GNU/Linux, it just werks
>>57918126
it was x86-synaptic-input which is the de facto gnu/linux trackpad driver.
>>57918102
that's the default behaviour, that's easily configured to basically anything you want
use google
>tfw too intelligent to make my trackpad work on loonix
>>57918942
i went through the configuration options and none of them pertain to this problem. hysteresis, max range, all of them had no impact. it's not easily configured.
>>57918102
that's a trackpoint, not trackpad you dumb motherfucking frog poster
Kill yourself
>>57918102
Linux is a shit meme OS, never use it
>>57918200
Use libsynaptics instead. I go through the same shit everytime I install Arch on a laptop. I always forget to fix it with this.
Use a tiling wm, vim and any of vimium-like plugin for your browser. You won't need a trackpad anymore.
Synaptics drivers is the garbage causing the problem, use libinput.
>>57918102
stop using your shitty hobbyist meme distro and install ubuntu for driver support and updates
>>57918102
honestly linux is interesting to learn various things on how computers work, but fuck that shit for actually using it
I'm staying in win7 now, disabled all those shitty updates and happy that I don't have to worry about all that bullshit regarding linux
also that shit looks awful, the interface is pure garbage, not even ricing is really worth it, the whole community has shit taste and can't design even if their lives depend on it
>>57918102
>using a trackpad
stop this fucking shit anytime

And this comes from someone who has used various GNU plus Linux distros including Gentoo and Arch.
Stick to Ubuntu. You get the same functionality without the pain in the ass.
>>57918200
>de facto
You mean default, imbecille. And the default GNU/Linux trackpad drivers are superior to Microsoft's ones.
