I have the UMi eMax, they promised Lollipop when they were selling this 2 years ago. Until now it's still Kitkat. UMi generally fakes their battery capacity and has shit software support for their camera.

I suggest you try the new phone from them so we can see if they're still doing shit.

Not yet, it's rumoured to be released in January.
>>

That means I probably wouldn't get it until at least March and I'd like something sooner than that.

The ZUK Z2 seems to have great specs for the price. Are there any known issues with it?

You could also consider the Redmi 4 prime, differences to the RN3P:

>slightly cheaper
>already on marshmallow

Unfortunatly he's not the only one who tried it and failed, or got a shit result.

I think there should be a heavy emphasis on the "glue your fucking capacitator onto something", as otherwise for me at least it ripped out the pad where the positive wire is soldered to due to assumingly pressure from the weight, or maybe I just soldered the resistor poorly.
>>
>>57916797
for information, I snapped the capacitator out of the board myself, that wasn't due to weight or bad craftsmanship.

I'm usually a non shit solderman but I know fuck-all about circuits and electric related infromation tables.

Here's a real good deal for you anons: JBL Charge 2+ bluetooth speaker for $30. I checked the prices elsewhere, and they sell for $99 on Amazon and $120-170 in my local shops. The best part is, if it turns out to be fake, it's free! (remember to use paypal)

it vastly depends, even with the same item from the same seller. depends on their suppliers, if they have stock on hand, if there is a cargo plane filled and ready to go already that they can just toss your shit on.

from experience the maximum time estimate given by the sellers are usually accurate but it can be any time from a week up to the 60 days maximum some sellers give
also depending on if customs holds uip your package and delays it
as well as what the hell your local post office does when they finally get it

I know you're just asking this because you want to order shit in time for christmas and in that case you are far too late son, unless you spring for the DHL/FEDEX premiums

Both Oukitel and zuk already have a Nougat rom in the works for early next year.

>>57920315
I think most of the recent xiaomi phones either have released with marshmallow or have a marshmallow beta rom. In addition at least RN3P, Mi5 and Mi Max are receiving official CM14 nightlies, no ideas about Xioami's plans about updating MIUI to nougat.
>>
>>57920315
Xiaomi focuses on MIUI first, because that makes it easier for them to roll out updates. The good thing about this is that MIUI often gets new features before they get implemented in the official android, so you can't notice it isn't running the latest version in the background, android hasn't substantially changed since 4.4.

I'm unsure of how they handle security this way and that might be the big downside of this approach.

The redmi 4 is an upgrade to the nexus in pretty much every spec (especially battery life), other than not having a stock android rom at the moment. But the ZUK is a great phone too if it's within your budget.

SuperCaps are high power density, but low energy density. A normal cap is much better for this situation.
Most supercapacitors only have a max voltage of 2.7V due to their electrolytes. They do have ridiculous capacities (10F+), and they can dump that charge incredibly fast but only at 2.7V.
On the other hand, you can get a 1mF electrolytic cap that can handle 100s of volts. Most likely a better choice in this situation.

The Furibee F36 is $13 at Gearbest at the moment and has had good reviews. It's small enough to fly indoors which is an advantage in winter.
http://www.gearbest.com/rc-quadcopters/pp_571963.html?wid=21

If you want something bigger, the JJRC H31 is about $25 at the moment also with Gearbest. It has a decent range of 100m or so and is powerful enough to lift a keychain camera (20g or so). It's basically indestructible too.

Nah the k6000 pro is great for the price.

The screen looks amazing for something not AMOLED, battery lasts ages, and it's really well built/durable.

My only real gripe with it is the camera.

My main reason for upgrading is that I wanted to treat myself for getting a new job after months of searching, so I decided to go for a new phone with a better camera and decent battery. Mainly to treat myself for the job and Christmas, otherwise I'd have held on to the k6000 pro for much longer.

>>
>>57923292

>>
>>57923292
Probably wrong but.
Power doesn't flow as well or as steadily.
Resistance causes battery to heat up to temperature it would have anyways.
Cooling a battery would "most likely" only be useful if you were pulling too many amps threw it in which case "what the fuck are you even doing"
>>
>>57923292
More internal resistance means that it can deliver less current / the voltage breaks down faster if a higher current is drawn.

>>57923321
No, too much heat (above 100°C or so) damages them permanently, cooling a lithium battery doesn't hurt it, but you can draw less current while it's cold. When it gets to a normal temperature again it works just like before.

No, you could maybe charge it faster if you keep it at a reasonable temperature (the C rating for charging a lithium exists because it mustn't get too hot)

Yes. Weebm related is the sort of thing you'll get from a camera the X250 can lift. The quality is much better before weebming.
I really love the X250 and can heavily recommend it if you don't want to fly indoors. Make sure you get some extra batteries though because only flying one at a time is excruciating. Turnigy Nanotech 0.78kmAh ones will fit and are better than the Chinese ones in my experience.

Got my E010 also found a sale for a Syma X5SW but the controllers are hot garbage and I think it's holding me back on practicing. I was thinking of getting a Devo 7E since it's supposed to work with a bunch of these toys with custom firmware. Good choice? A bad workman blames his tools.

I don't have the Devo I'm afraid; I went with the Flysky FS-I6 for my autism-grade quadcopter. I considered the Devo but the range mod looked like far too much of a ballache for me so I gave it a miss. Also I have manlet hands so I really don't mind the toy transmitters.
>>
>>57924210
well, went out and my phone doesn't seem to want to cooperate with me for some fucking reason. Charging works good though
>>
>>57924347
Figured you might say that. I'm just having trouble keeping my thrust in check at times with this Syma controller and it seems like the way the sticks are on the Devo it would help a lot.

About the transmitter, do you know why people bother with multiprotocol modules if the Devo 7E is supposed to work with almost everything OOB w/ Deviation? Do you think it would it be better to just go that route with something that has better range?
>>
>>57924577
It doesn't work out of the box with everything. It needs the module(s) to work with non-Walkera shit., of which the NRF24L01 is the one for pretty much all toys. See here:

https://www.deviationtx.com/wiki/supported_protocols

This was why I didn't go with the Devo, because it seems like some serious effort is required to look like a massive autist controlling a $30 quad with a $50 radio.

When you say keeping your thrust in check, do you mean you're struggling to hold an altitude while flying forward?
>>
>>57918733
Why did no one recommend the xioami small ants can? Good 720p quality and has sd card support for offline recording. They have a new 1080p moveable dome now but that's to expensive for my taste.
>>
>>57924768
Thanks. So I take it the Flysky transmitters won't work with the toy mini quads unless they have OpenTX support?

Being in a city there's not many places that I'd feel comfortable taking one of these out so the indoor drones is what I'll mainly use. I have a lot of space for it.

>do you mean you're struggling to hold an altitude while flying forward?

More so that I feel like I can't even rotate because the throttle stick is so delicate. I guess I should mention that I've just been flying it in a small parking lot at the moment. I don't want to fly too high because it'll just end up on someone's roof. I will take it somewhere with some open space but I figured I should still be able to practice with some finer movements now but right now it feels like the DPI is set to 3600 on that stick so I can't. Maybe that's just normal, I dunno.
>>
>>57925003
>the Flysky transmitters won't work with the toy mini quads unless they have OpenTX support?

Short answer no, long answer I don't think the FS-I6 has OpenTX support yet anyway. You won't be controlling any toys with the FS-I6, but you also won't get another 10-channel transmitter with a 2 mile range for $40.

>I feel like I can't even rotate because the throttle stick is so delicate.

To an extent this is the quad's fault. A lot of toy quads have a uselessly retarded yaw rate so you can spin it like a super cool UFO but which doesn't help with flying it at all. If you're just talking about the E010 then you could help yourself by drilling/melting a hole in the controller mushroom and wedging a stick in it to make it more of a joystick and give the feeling of higher control resolution. Needless to say, the X250 doesn't have this issue as the yaw rates are really nicely dialed in.
>>
>>57925196
I think I'm going to try my luck with the Devo. I don't mind the work as these projects are good soldering practice and it looks like I have a way out if I fuck up the range mod. Thanks for the help. I'll try fiddling with them and maybe look into something better. I just grabbed the Syma because it was $30.
