>build computer
>case has no internal speaker
Well, how the fuck am I supposed to hear muh bios beep codes then, motherfucker?
>breaks old pc speaker out of old pc
>zipties it in place inside new computer
Seriously, did they stop putting pc speakers in machines? I like the "beep!" Case in question is quite nice otherwise: Fractal Design Core 1100 -- would build with again.
A little speaker comes with your motherboard for error codes

Nope, built like five machines for friends this year, Asus doesn't include them anymore, at least not on the Skylake builds I made.
I should order some off ebay just in case, they're really quite handy in diagnostics, don't need to guess if the ram is loose or not.
Also, fuck intel for removing USB kbm support from skylake.
A friend bought a supermicro mobo. The internal speaker header was unpopulated, but you could still obviously hear all the beeping.

How? If there's no speaker, what's beeping?

there's your problem

My Gigabyte board came without one too. Had to put a beeper from a diagnostics kit (with small push buttons for power/reset and LEDs) on there just like on the dead ASRock before.

This. Gigabyte is top tier.

Comes in a little bag usually.

I'd love to have a boot sound in firmware coming out of an internal speaker, like with SGI's workstations.

I sorta like Asus because of the BIOS flash utility being built in. Does Gigabyte have this too?
>>57896738
Gigabyte is shit tier
>>57895755
My motherboard has no speaker at all. Instead there's a small LED display mounted on it that shows an error code when something goes wrong. PC speaker beep codes are cryptic and sadly, a thing of the past.
