Yea. Try using gparted. Choose the drive and hit attempt data recovery. Has worked for me before.

Do not write anything to your SD card! There is still a chance you can recover your data, as long as you do not write anything new onto the card.

As for what recovery software to use: I once lost a few files I needed for uni coursework, managed to recover it using software by EaseUS. I can't remember the name is the software, though.
