I think I answered these correctly but I don't know much about keyboards. Also if anyone knows a good mouse for gaming (has a few easy to press buttons i can macro) i would like to hear that too.
Thanks.

>>
>>57882907
There is no tactile feedback in topres. That is a fact and its due to the rubber dome. You can even see it in the graph you posted >>57882801
>>
>>57882850
>>57882936
No tactile feedback =/= linear

Go look at the force graph of mx blue, topre and mx red and tell me what you see.

If the force graph of topre looks like that of mx red, then you must be either blind or really bad at reading graphs.

I come to you in need of help. My keyboard recently started double inputing keys (as in I press a key once and it registers twice). I saw this keyboard in a battlestation thread. Anon said he made it himself. I would pay top dollar for something like this, honestly. Split keyboards get me diamonds. Is there anything out there like that? I didn't see anything in OP for them, so looking to Anons for aid.

Been using a Model M for years, but I'd make the switch for something like that.

they're great, but I'm fairly sure that they're not what you're looking for.

If you want something that has proper weight to it, has tactile feedback and doesn't make excessive amounts of noise, it's cherry clears that you're looking for.

Topre force graphs are near flat and extremely smooth. This makes them feel like linear switches. Especially the lighter linear switches like Reds since the spring rate isn't as much.

Topre has an increase of force at the upper half of the keystroke, after which the resistance becomes practically zero as the rubber dome collapses.

You must have a strange concept of linear.
The rubber dome collapses, and you pretty much inevitably bottom out, because the force is near zero. That's not the case with linear switches.

Reds don't feel similar to topre in the slightest. Nor does any other linear switch. Topre feels like a rubber dome, because it is one. Linears feel like pressing down on a spring with resistance that increases slightly as you bottom out, Topre is pretty much the opposite of that.

They are gritty, as with any Cherry MX switch compared to Gateron.
On the Browns the grit is more pronounced, so I think it is intentional. I still don't like it.
Gateron equivalents are much smoother and I believe feelios are too.
If you like the grit then you should like Browns.

Some questions before I join I notice that the alpha set costs $68, but if I scroll down I see that it $53 is in bold. Is that just the reduced price because more people bought? If it is why does it still list the price as $68 and not $53? And finally when the GB ends in a week will I be charged the reduced price or the $68. This would be my first gb and their faq isn't really helping me answer it.

probably the reduced price, or possibly the full price, then refunded the difference to the reduced price

i wouldnt let this give you the impression that this is how most GBs go. this one is run particularly shitty/

it's likely your (and mine ;_;) ISO kit wont even reach the MOQ, and then theyll email you whether you want a full refund, or just a refund for that kit
>>

>or possibly the full price, then refunded the difference to the reduced price
I hate that. My bank is really slow, it takes like 10 business to complete a refund, which is a huge pain in the ass. I could live without the ISO kit, but why didn't they launch this on massdrop, it seem like it would have gotten the iso kit funded faster

backspace is not the key on the top right, backspace on a HHKB is the key directly below the one you're talking about, tilde is the key on the top right

OP probably ran out of keys so they moved tilde to the left of where it normally is.

OR they have a different controller and everything I said is irrelevant.

Aren't Filcos $150+ after importing it from Japan. Also Unicomp model Ms work out to around $100 after shipping. The Unicomp one is better built, especially since Filco has some of the worst keycaps on the market

Hey I use a cheap keyboard that I bought at the goodwill for $3 right now and it works alright.

Heres the thing I want to get a keyboard thats super easy to clean, I fried my last keyboard (another cheap keyboard) cleaning it with q-tips.

I know these aren't mechanical keyboards but has anyone here used any of the waterproof silicon rollout keyboards?

They look a little small for a keyboard, I prefer full size keyboards, preferably without retarded gaming lcd shit everwhere which is surprisingly hard to find with mechanical keyboards. The only keyboards I've found that I like are the

Das Keyboard Pro 4? I think.
And the custom keyboards from that one website. Both of those are like $170 though.

Or you could ask us. We'd tell you about the Filco Majestouch, Ducky One, WASD V2, and so forth. There's a lot of options so long as you ask around.

As far as waterproof boards, though, that's a harder question. There's the XMIT Hall Effect board, which is actually waterproof in the sense that it works underwater, but you already missed the group buy for that. Maybe you can wait for the tech to appear on other boards over the course of the year.

>>
>>57893274
What, all in one building? Are you Notch?

For sheet metal parts (leaf springs, etc.) you need high precision laser cutters and rolling/breaking equipment. For other metal parts you need CNC mills. For injection molded plastic parts you need to make the molds with a CNC mill, and then use them in a mold press thing (I don't know what these are actually called). For the PCBs you need a board printer to make the board, a pick-n-place machine to put stuff on it, and an oven to perform solder baths. Each of these is very expensive and very large and you still need skilled laborers to operate them and perform manual assembly.
>>
>>57893478
