I'm thinking of getting one of these so I can play on my tv in bed. However, when using the streaming service steam offers WITHOUT the link, I experience periodic lag that makes the games unplayable. I have very face internet and a gaming pc however.
Does the steam link have a tendency to lag like steam streaming does? Would it be worth the risk to get it?

can you jailbreak it and install linux?
It's not really much of a risk. Relatively cheap and easy to return. I've been using it for a while with no issues, just don't bother with wifi.

This, it works great but you MUST be wired. WiFi is not viable.

We don't care about your failed product. Fuck off Valve shills.

Wired? Whats the point of the link then? My bedroom is on the other side of the house from the router that's so inconvenient.
I guess streaming wifi just hasn't reached a viable point yet

good question.

It doesn't use the internet, it uses your router

If you have a high end router and networking hardware in your PC you could probably do it wirelessly
It'll work just as well as normal streaming. This is a thin client, so it's only as good as your connection. If you have 5ghz n/ac then it's playable. Not for spergy Counterstrike.

This anon's right. Let's go back to jerking over our desktops.
Man, all I want is to steam link games and media to a 4k tv wirelessly. Wired isn't too big a deal in my setup though
