I used the first Samsung Chromebook in college and it was fine after "side loading" Ubuntu on in. Storage was a tad low (16 GB IIRC), but since I just used it for taking notes and writing few rails apps it was perfectly adequate.
On plus size it was small, cheap, and had OK battery life. On negative it was arm processor and shit took forever to compile.

They literally are
Schools here use Chromebooks and they don't hold up well at all. I've never seen so many failures (seagate drives maybe?). Google classroom and all that. Compared to other virtual schools and software I've used over the years it's mediocre as with anything Google (apps/gear). Underwhelming.
seems like it's good for reading emails, note taking and help calm down the autism rage.
