Linux will never EVER be a serious OS.

Deal with that fact.
>>
>>57852269
You need 644 permissions, better start looking for them, it's quite a lot.

ok, it's just that it's hard to believe whatever is posted here. If you're serious would you mind providing:
-The version of your operative system.
-If your OS was fully updated when this happened.
-Your hardware specs.
-The exact steps to reproduce this bug.
-If it already exists, the bug report describing this problem.

Sorry, is just that your opening posts doesn't looks serious and pretty sure everyone thinks you're just smearing. If you need actual help the next time consider posting on the /sqt/ or the /fglt/ instead of creating a thread, be polite and follow the rules, by being passive-aggressive the best you'll get is for someone to google for you rather than a significant piece of help.

>>57853660
Hello mister, my internet not working.
>>
>>57852662
It does not mean 644 permissions you dumb wintoddler.

It's file permissions, the first number represents user, the next number represent group and the next number represent world.

A user is a user, a group is a group and the world is everyone.

and then we have the numbers:

Read 4 - Allowed to read files
Write 2 - Allowed to write/modify files
eXecute1 - Read/write/delete/modify/directory

so 644 means that the user can read files and modify/delete files. The Group and world can just read the files.

and 777 means that everyone can do anything to the file. 666 means that everyone can reas and write/modify files and so on and so forth. 444 means everyone can ONLY read the files and so on. 400 means that the user can ONLY read and nobody else can do anything. and so on.

pretty sure this could be worked around if he ran as root.

It's literally normal addition made out of 4, 2 and 1...

for example 4+2+1 = 7
or 4+1 = 5
or 4+2 = 6

My son could do that in the kindergarten. It's not hex numbers, it's normal everyday numbers.

I changed the language in the system settings? There were no warnings that it could corrupt anything, i fixed it though.

Did you even bother looking at the permissions of either of those things to see if they were right, because it's a really easy fix

Mhmm? I bought a computer with windows outside the US and it can't change language at all, at least according to their own website.
Has this changed? I haven't used windows for some 5 years now.

Because they invest a lot of ego in getting it working and then realise that it's shit.
