Either cmus or mocp I guess.
I use foobar like a sane human bean
mocp
just works
>>57835060
>text-based
we don't live in the 70's anymore gramps, the cool kids use ncurses now
>>57835060
I just use noice and mpv. No need for a dedicated music browser.
>>57835471
its funny because all these kids don't understand the difference between tui/text interfaces.
I use a CLI for my pandora because it gives unlimited skips (not truly unlimited as if you do it like 50+ times in a row it flags your account for a few hours, but if you keep it reasonable it's basically unlimited skips)

Music On Console (MOC) suits my needs. Custom layout, and a custom theme with a custom color. Everything is customized.
I don't. To play my music I use an ncurses based interface called ncmpcpp to control the mpd daemon.
>>57835060
ncmpcpp like everyone else
>>57835060
I've used mpd + ncmpcpp/mpc for so long I can't bring myself to switch.
mpc+keybinds for playback control, beets for library management/tagging and ncmpcpp solely for playlists management.
ncmpcpp works wel
cmus is nice too
or anything else
mpd+ncmpcpp on my desktop, cmus on most other stuff because ncmpcpp breaks when used over ssh for me
both are stock settings, although I keep wanting to rebind ncmpcpp to have vim bindings like cmus
>>57835801
That's pretty cool. Any idea how it pulls that off?
what do you guys use for scrobbling? I was using mpdas as a systemd user-service but it hasn't actually been auto starting, so I go months with no scrobbles without realizing it sometimes
I use mad + ncmpcpp with default settings. It just works for me.
i don't have autismo so I use aimp
>>57837918
scmpc, it's light daemon written in C.
mpdas' author had (has?) plans to rewrite the whole thing (probably in C), but I don't know if work even began.
mpv
I just throw directories at it
mpd blows shit, it never fucking updates my folders when I add music
I spend multiple days fucking with the mpd service, and mpc commands but it turns out mpd is just cancerous shit
>>57837902
No idea, but it complies easily in any distro and even has a compiled windows version.
Been using it for several years.
do these programs support streaming too? not from spotify shit, but like real mp3 streams.
