Running a email server is a full time activity. Especially if you want it safe. You could hire a person to run it for you. It might be cheaper in the long run when you consider the loss in earning potential trying to code up some spam filter that works.

I'm a little worried about the longevity of the service, since they constantly whine that they will go bankrupt if not more people buy premium accounts.
