Why can’t they make displays great again? Its just one gimmick after another, like curved displays and VR.
Normies. Just look at modern /g/.
what do you mean, aren't they better and cheaper than ever?

They are, but when you suffer from autism anything that gets changed or deviates slightly from your "comfy place" (usually what you had as a child), causes you to get upset. People with autism aren't able to form unbiased opinions, and instead think that whatever they were exposed to and used to as a child is the best ever

But "VR" tech is older than dirt

I ignored the VR part because I dont really know why OP even included it in his post. Its not really relevant to what he's talking about and doesnt have much to do with display tech at all. Maybe eye tracking, but for tvs and monitors that's kind of useless since your eyes are constantly darting around all over the place without even really thinking about it
Curved, ultrawide displays are not a meme however and look incredible when you're actually using them. The viewing angle is admittedly pretty fucked, but 99% of the time you're sitting stationary in the centre of your desk when using a desktop computer, so its not super important

>nuhuh, VR isnt’t actual display technology
Who is the autismo now?

the technology doesn't come from the display, its basically just a smartphone screen that's really close to your face. Its the headtracking that's the real "technology". That's like saying a wiimote is display technology, or a camera is display technology, or a dishwasher is a baking tool.
