I can only think of pirated satelite TV from russians
paying some 4€ monthly in bitcoins for shitload of channels, which would otherwise cost 45€
though of course in that case we would not be getting it, but its nice having all HBOs and shitload of sport channels

None, unless rent and utilities and Internet count. I use my parents' Netflix account. I have a domain, but that's a yearly fee. I'm extremely frugal with my money.

None. I used to have:

Spotify/Netflix: dropped when I realized I wind up pirating almost half my music/movies anyways just because the selection at these services isn't that great (especially Netflix)

Amazon Prime: Figured it's only worth it if you make frequent (at least once a week) small purchases. I'm more the type to make infrequent (a few times a year) large purchases that give you free shipping, and in the case that I have to make a small purchase, paying $5 shipping on that one order is cheaper than a flat $50 yearly. Also some items aren't prime eligible so you have to pay shipping anyways, and quite often prime items take well over the claimed 2 days to arrive.

Xbox live: Don't really play games anymore. If I do start again I'm probably just gonna stick with PC and skip Xbox/PS since online play is free and better.

I'm pretty sure there are some geographical limitations in how far a sattelite can reach.

Pic related are the cut off points until what point you can receive the BBC in Germany. And the UK and Germany are much closer than even the East Coast of the US and Portugal.

What the fuck are services and why would you need to subscribe to stuff like netflix and humble monthly?
Are you talking about rss feed of what?

Yeah I meant this

I know almost nothing about sattelites and encryption, but I know a lot about radio.
Would love to watch these channels, and wouldn't mind a 12' dish in my back yard.

Try benchmarking with a Ubuntu torrent.

Getting about ~9.5 MB/sec on PIA servers closest to me.

Cox Internet

I borrow a Netflix sub from time to time, but otherwise I don't pay for it.

>>57822425
dunno, satelites that hover over us wont work for ya, but I think you likely has something like this
the question is of implementation
usually you buy parabolle, set top box and a card that decodes channels you pay for
with russians we connect to internet, connect to a server and it sends us keys that decode channels without needing for the card.

all in all whole shit of setting it up on your house is pretty damn cheap
and you are a not a bitch to your local cable

Literally nothing else, I don't like Netflix, and I can just create a new account every month to get free Amazon Prime.
>>
>>57824490
How do you delete Amazon accounts
>>
>>57824524
You need to call Amazon and tell them you would like to delete an account.

Really there is no point in deleting accounts because they don't affect anything.

What the fuck is going on with /g/?

A true /g/entooman shouldn't be subscribed to anything and do everything old-school style.

>download music as .mp3 files and store them on your device of choice
>download lossless versions of the music you want if your autismo level is big enough
>download movies from torrents, there's no shame in using pirate bay

I can copy my shit whenever and however I want. My phone, my TV, my PS3, my PC all can play content that I own and without any internet access.
Heck, I burned my music into a CD so now I can play it with my car without fucking with the AUX cable and my phone everytime I drive.

Why would anyone computer literate would be subscribed to any streaming service is beyond me.
>>
>>57825698

I don't sub to any streaming service, but they do provide certain conveniences worth paying for. Spotify, for example, often streams music I can't even find on rutracker, and Netflix provides the convenience of streaming a film instantly as compared to waiting for a torrent to pull down the whole thing before I watch.

People aren't paying for the media specifically though, they're paying because the services are more convenient than conventional piracy.
>>
>>57825698
>computer literate
>music as .mp3 files
If you're going to go lossless at least pick a good lossless format instead of legacy bloated shit.

I agree with the rest of your post though, even if i tried i just can't find anything worthwhile to subscribe to.

But everything plays mp3, unlike some other formats. It's more of a compatibility choice.

Plus I can't notice the quality difference above 128kbps so I don't really care.
