I was over at my SO's community college today and noticed that there were a LOT of these 220 volt outlets in the hallways. Like, one every 50 feet or so. Does anyone have any idea why a college would need to have so many of these outlets just sitting around in the hallways? This has been bugging me all day

Maybe they're for custodial equipment used to clean the rooms?

For custodial equipment as the other anon said.

Floor buffers in particular tend to be 220v

Those ride-on floor buffers?
>>
>>57810994
Those say 125V, retard. They're 5-20Rs for cleaning equipment, most likely.
