I was like 13. I started using it to be different and look like a l33t haxx0r, now I use it because I like having a working computer.

never because Windows is the only OS used in business
hell I was still having to use DOS until about 2007

20 in 2003. But i didn't grow out as it was my first os. Later grabbed an XP image and only 3 years later got back to linux. Unlike most fa/g/ here i could print and warez on linux without any gimmick in the cli. The only reason i changed to xp was muh games.

Back in 2007, my electronics professor was showing his design in his laptop to our class. It was called ktechlab.

Later most of our classes wanted to install it however ktechlab is a KDE software. I was deeply impressed by it so I installed ubuntu in my spare computer.

After windows 8.1 was released I was frustrated with the start menu. I was using classic shell but at the same time I really got better with Linux.

Windows 10 was released and I did not like it at all. So I moved completely to Linux. Well, not completely because I need a couple of softwares to use. So I have a windows VM frozen in my second workspace.

14. Slackware Linux. Then I became an adult who values pragmatism over socialist idealism and went back to Windows at age 24

I fucked around with linux in college years ago. Dropped it for windows for awhile and picked linux back up when I got a real job.

When a product that I bought, that worked perfectly for any task, even ones now, was decided that it actually didn't work, and you need to pay for the one that DID.

So at the end of XP's life.

13. Grew back with 17.

Interesting, I grew out of Linux as I got older.

Used various distros for many years going into college.

Late college and now I use Windows almost exclusively, and only keep a VM around if I need to test something that's cross-platform.

I made the switch about 2009, I think.
My wife just made the switch this year, so now all 5 computers in our house are Linux.
>>
I just started using both because I like videogames.
>>
I was around 23. I was interested in lightweight distros for an aging college laptop I had and couldn't afford to replace. Tinkered around with Ubuntu, ended up enjoying it and moving to another distro later. Currently using win10 because video games.
