What do you guys thing about PC gaming on a 4K TV?
I'm new to PC gaming and I am looking for a new monitor but 4K monitors are just as expensive as TVs twice their size.

Fine for controller, good luck on kb/m
TVs usually have high input lag, which is one of the main reasons people shy away from them for actually gaming.

how do TVs work differently than monitors that causes input lag? just wondering

IIRC they use cheaper/slower onboard processors since it doesn't matter if Days of Our Lives is delayed by 2ms or 20ms.

Using a buffer instead of expensive fast components is cheaper. Also there is a buffer for some post processing. But that part can usually be bypassed by using the game mode on the tv.

Some people go for those big Korean monitors. They are a gamble but if it pays off you get a huge monitor for cheap
They're great. I had the itch to upgrade for 4K about a year and a half ago. I went to a 32" monitor, then to a 40" Samsung TV, then 48", and finally landed at 55" on an LG OLED and love every second of it. I did buy that 4K Acer G-Sync monitor and hated it, returned it. The screen was TOO SMALL. Yes, 32" was too small. It was terrible after gaming on 55" up close. It's so easy to see what's going on with a large screen. Finding enemies on 32" was damn near impossible for me after using a TV for so long.
A quality large screen just immerses you so much more in your games. As long as you get a TV with decent input lag, you won't have an issue. The LG OLED's are not the best in terms of input lag, but I still manage to come out on top of scoreboards in FPS's when I try. But don't expect to play stupid super competitive shit on it either.

I play fps games with a 42" TV with mice/keyboard up close, I think their great
