Hi /g/
An ISP tech fucked up and cut a bunch of cables short because they were in his way, don't know what the fuck he was thinking but as a result, they couldn't be run where they needed to go and now he's coming back to join them with pic related.
Are there any downsides to doing that? Would I expect any noticeable signal loss?

Technically yes, practically no.

>Technically yes, practically no.
So yes there is loss but I'm not going to notice it.
Are we talking fractions of a percent or something? Enough that I'd actually get a few B less through the cable?

You'll probably be fine desu.
Depends on your connection type. If its DSL then you probably have a million taps and joins already so whats another

>If its DSL
I'm in China, they don't really do DSL here anymore, it's usually a WAN with either copper or fibre, this will be fiber.

So DSL in China wasn't using copper wires?
>>57785936
They were, DSL is obsolete now. It's all fibre straight to a WAN, no POTS involved.

If its fiber he isnt using a line joiner.
The fiber will be spliced back together.

Do you have Gbit internet? Maybe then it could actually affect your speed, otherwise I seriously doubt it.
