Are there any good alternatives <400€?

I think it's important to consider why you want to go 4k. If I were to do it I would get a 30 to 40 inch display to take advantage of the pixel density and keep my 1080p 144hz for certain games.

I have this one and I'm very satisfied with it
After calibrating, the colors are great and UHD is something you definitely won't want to miss anymore.
Keep in mind that it's a TN panel though.
It has a massive contrast shift when viewed from top or bottom. Left and right viewing angles are okay.

Who the fuck cares?

Nobody. I just mentioned it.
Though it also happens when you lay your head on the table.

Mostly gaming and Photl editing. I know that the colors may not look good on it but this doesnt matter to me since i am non-professional

Well I assume you have the hardware for it? My thing is that 1080p looks fine at 23" and below and 4k would look similar on a 40" tv. I've even seen someone post a Battle station with one and 4 windows up on it and it looked amazing. I think 1440p is good for 27" and 4k is best used at larger sizes. Not to mention 40" 4k tvs are cheap now. Under $400
Here's an alternative. It's a little smaller but it's IPS instead of TN.

If it's using MST (two displays bonded on a single DP 1.2 port internally), be aware that GNU/Linux support is "poor" to "absolutely unusable" depending on your setup requirements (DE/additional monitors/et cetera).

you seem like an idiot so go ahead and order it
How's this monitor for photo/video editing? It's going to be for my brother as a Christmas gift. It seems weirdly affordable for an IPS monitor

There's also this ASUS one which seems pretty nice as well

This one is better in my opinion.

Hp have fucked up whitebalance on so many laptops and LIED about ips panel when infact shipping tn panels
You can take a chance but i would put in a few more bucks and get him a better brand. I bought a cheap dell 22" ips screen to use as a secondary monitor and the image quality is great.
Im only being critical against hp as i have been burned 2 times. Never buying that shit again

>Anti Glare screen is annoying
Why so? It seems like an useful feature

think before you type assmoron
The matt finish is exactly what it sounds like. Its a grainy film reducing the image quality so you can enjoy your grainy image in bright sunlight.

I have this monitor, so if you have any questions on it, ask. Keep in mind it has no vesa mount so if you need/are thinking of multiple monitors on a mount, look for an alternative.

There is a new version with VESA mount.
