Last ditch effort to stall the FBI from acquiring the legal right to hack into people who are part of a Botnet and be able to prosecute those people if the FBI just happens to stumble upon evidence of what they consider to be a crime. Their logic is that if they're given the legal right to hack into people not suspected of wrongdoing, anything the FBI sees in the process would fall under the "plain sight" legal exemption for warrants.

They're also getting the okay to hack an unlimited number of people in any jurisdiction with only a single warrant.

They're also getting the okay to hack people who use Tor or a VPN without needing to serve anyone a warrant. Because apparently it's been too cumbersome for the FBI to serve a VPN provider with a warrant?

Call your lawmakers and have them vote on the Stop Mass Damaging Hacking Act. Or else we're going to have a Trump administration where they'll dictate who gets v&.

>>
are you a pedo? lmao
>>
What I fail to understand is why the american government is accelerating its anti-liberty laws big time right before obama leaves office.
Like they're making the government more powerful just before trump takes power.
They're increasing the president's power.
>>
>>57771783

Do you jerk off to hentai? Then a lot of people think you're a pedo because you're MASTURBATING TO CHILDREN'S CARTOONS.

Shit's not so simple, FBI shill.
>>
>>57771811

This was set in motion before Trump won. The Department of Justice doesn't want to give this up even if Trump will get to decide how it's ultimately used.
>>
Come on pajeets. If you don't speak up than the only ones that are being heard are the FBI and DoJ.
>>
Lets all just hope trump faps to lolis
>>
>>57771762
>to hack an unlimited number of people in any jurisdiction
>in any jurisdiction
Russians and chinese will totally play game.
>>
>>57771762
Say a final goodbye to torrents with the VPN/tor thing
>>
>>57772326

Don't use Transmission. If you want to make it less likely the FBI will pwn you, use a torrent client that requires the FBI to use a 0-day to hack. They'll be more reluctant to use a 0-day than an old-ass exploit.
>>
Can the government really just hack into ANY computer with ease?

What if I'm running some hardened, open-source shit? Or hand-written with no possible backdoor?
>>
>>57772422
I use tribler
>>
>>57771762
Who cares? It's still possible to hide from that shit. They are only ruining the lives of regular people, not actual computer criminals.
>>
>>57772466

Open Source isn't what it used to be. The ratio of paranoid schizos to code-to-audit has dramatically changed to weigh in favor of too much code and not enough auditors.

Part of the problem is SJWs. Part of the problem is Feds. Part of the problem are Silicon Valley's push to hire pajeets. Part of the problem is that some code basis are so awful to look at that few people want to audit them despite their ubiquitous use (see: OpenSSL which recently had a heap overflow RCE(Remote Command Execution) exploit on it published).

You can certainly make it pricier for the FBI to hack you. Your goal is to have enough a good enough defense that the FBI doesn't see you as worthwhile to burn a good 0-day on.

Ultimately tech can't solve political problems. And this is a political problem that needs more voices in it who aren't part of the DoJ and FBI.

>>57772493

Eh. Not the worst, but not great. Use something Open Source that's updated regularly and doesn't have an ad-network hook.

>>57772564

The easiest marks are the ones who see themselves as untouchable.
>>
>>57771864
Well, yeah. That's what you get for masturbating to cartoon images of children.

That's why I never masturbate to animated cp like you pedos, only 3d 18+ women.

Pedos will always be just pedos.
>>
>>57772627

Doesn't even need to be loli hentai. Could be any hentai. A lot of people see cartoon porn as one step removed from pedophilia.
>>
>>57772614
>open source
It's like you want to get hacked.

>>57772660

Pajeet plz.
>>
>>57772627
Now there is a database showing that you have written a sentence with the words "I" "masturbate" "to" "cp". Whenever someone makes a query in that database for people writing those words in sentences then your name will come up.
>>
>>57772614
Like what
>>
Should "plain sight" even apply in this context? Maybe you should just use different user accounts and have your "anonymous" stuff under a different username or use a virtual machine to compartmentalize your files.
>>
>>57772678
Same for you.
>>
>>57772684

I'm partial to Deluge.

>>57772743

Doesn't matter if it *should* apply - the DoJ's interpretation is that it *does* apply.
>>
>>57772793
Tribler has built in free anonymous to avoid lawyers
>>
>>57772820

It doesn't work right. Never has. Doesn't provide anonymization to any meaningful extent.
>>
>>57773137
I just want to avoid IP monitors

Isn't there anything like tribler which has that great in program torrent database and easy to use all around
>>
>>57773172

If that's your threat model, make sure to configure your client to bind to your VPN interface and drop all torrenting if the VPN is disconnected. And make sure to use a good VPN service.
>>
>>57771762
the patriot act exists already, youre too late.
>>
>>57773237
Or just use tribler
>>
>>57771783
>are you a pedo? lmao
PizzaGate has shown us that the government consists of pedos so this is fucking frightening if you think about it logically.

The pedos are going to hack anyone who tries to stop them.

Goodbye freedom. Hello horrific ending.
>>
>>57773246

Patriot Act doesn't allow the FBI to do this. Modifying Rule41 does.

>>57773254

If you have it configured right. But don't rely on the "anonymization" to actually anonymize you more than just using a VPN does, which only goes so far.

Definitely don't rely on it at all in place of a VPN.

STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM! YOU VIOLATED THE GOVERNMENT'S ABILITY TO SPY ON IT"S CITIZEN! SUBMIT TO ARREST OR PAY IN BLOOD!
>>
>>57773366

You mean you don't like your every word and movement on the Internet scrutinized by authority figures for anything they may disapprove of?
>>
I will defend my porn to the death
>>
Is windows the real life CTOS equivalent
>>
>>57773501

Then go to the EFF link in the OP and contact your lawmakers' aides through it. The EFF will give you a sample of what to say.

Sooner the better. Offices for most lawmakers close in 70 minutes.
>>
>>57772744
Listen, if you don't think we're all already on a list somewhere just because we go to 4chan you're seriously deluded
>>
>>57773729

I've spoken with spooks and what I was told is that there's multiple lists.

Yes you're on a list. If the Rule 41 changes go through, you'll have a greater chance of being put on a Bad list.
>>
>>57773501
If it's legal then it doesn't matter does it?
>>
>>57771762
What's the matter anon? Don't trust your sysadmin / programming skills to make the server secure from FBI's attacks?
>>
>>57774017

A lot of that is subjective. Do you really want to risk a moral panic over "Internet pedophile communities masturbating to children's cartoons"? A moral panic that could turn into a legal panic?

>>57774037
This isn't 2005. FBI has some people working for them now that actually know their shit.
>>
>>57774017

Do you get your porn through sad panda? If so you're violating copyright.
>>
Just called and they asked for a Bill Number.

For Senators, the bill number is S.3485.
>>
Looks like Texas Senator John Cornyn prevented a vote on this bill for today.

At midnight tonight, the FBI gets their massively expanded hacking authority.

Better hope you never become part of a botnet, that hentai keeps flying under the public radar, and that the FBI doesn't try to hack you while you're torrenting.
>>
Call regardless. Gotta let your lawmakers know this is an issue that's important to their constituents (i.e. you).
>>
I called my senator and told him to vote for it.
>>
>>57775395

You did a good thing, anon.
