Windows 10 is a Frankenstein monster at this stage. Patched together UI for multiple platforms and inconsistencies in the code causing the kernel to shit itself.

They infected Windows 7 with telemetry and other crap during free upgrade season. Now legacy versions are also ruined.

M$ ecosystem is finished as far I am concerned. Linux and MacOS are the future.

it peaked around 07 and went downhill from there. since then, they've introduced mesh so you can make stuff in Blender/Maya/Max/etc and import it into SL in .dae format. It's simultaneously the best and worst looking "game" because of the massive rift between stuff made with inworld primitives and stuff made with mesh.

It's going to be around for a good while, as the few people who do use it have invested lots of money - I have put at least $300-400 USD into it.

What were the developers even thinking by making the neverending "trial" possible? Same goes for Total Commander really. They might actually earn more by declaring their programs freeware but accepting donations, instead of offering "trialware" which can be used endlessly and which almost nobody buys a license for.

well if it's linux, the first thing i realistically do is get the fucking shit to work properly for about 8 hours regardless of build

if windows, i spend 8 hours updating it, then removing telemetry updates

first 5 programs on both would probably be a web browser, music player, codec pack of some sort, torrent client, and maybe a game or some shit
