How bad are Kingston SSDs, /g/?
Thingken of buying pic related, because it looks amazing in my build.
They explode when you put power on them.
they said you got one thing and sold you another
Sandisk is also red btw
I have that same one but 240gb and it's okay I guess (it's my first ssd anyway so I don't know how it fares against others)

Well depends on which particular one because they use different controllers every time.

It's a 240GB one, like this anon >>57687310
I can get a 850 EVO cheaper, but since my build is black/red, I really like that Kingston one.

The problem with kingston is that they mix controllers all the time, so its up to luck.
That is why they are considered unreliable.
Just get a 850 evo anon.

Anon, the 850 evo its not only more reliable and last you way longer but its faster as well.
3D NAND>SLC cache+TLC NAND.

I've been looking at benchmarks and it's not as fast as the Kingston.
Reviews are pretty good on the Kingston too.
>Our time with Kingston's HyperX Savage as our boot volume was just out of this world good. I am a little reluctant to classify the Savage as a hyper-class SSD, but then again, it's so fast in a consumer setting that I am hard pressed to find a more applicable category for it.
>We really didn't expect Kingston's HyperX Savage to breakdown the lab door and storm in like it did; busting out lab records.
While the 850 Evo looks like the safe buy, I really am impressed with the reviews on this one.
