Why can't these guys just make back ups and have someone

People are already starting to realize that private trackers are an absolute joke for this very reason. Many ex-what.cd users are migrating their torrents to rutracker

I mean more broadly, weren't there off-site backups for WhatCD / OiNK / etc.? Or did they just run it at a single host and assume there would never be a takedown?

And if there are, why not just hand it over to new ownership?
