macOS users have a similar experience to Linux users in this particular aspect. Practically every input device I've hooked up my my Macs have worked right out of the box without drivers. Swipes are better than fidgety direction buttons (and can include velocity, so you can quickly select something on the other side of the screen without spamming the right/left buttons), clicky hard plastic buttons are better than your stock gummy button shit, and dictating out searches works way better than onscreen virtual keyboard.

I just wish I could control my AV receiver and the TV itself with the same remote somehow. Having to use the remotes that came with the receiver and TV is frustrating by comparison.
