At 1080p the 2gb vram will literally never be relevant because in any game where 8gb of VRAM is actually relevant you can be damn sure the RX480 is going to be struggling to the point you're going to turn AA off thus making the VRAM irrelevant again.

The RX480 is the better buy right now on black friday because you can get a civ VI key and resell it if you don't want it. It is absolutely crushing the GTX 1060 in value. Don't expect the RX 480 to actually surpass the GTX 1060 in performance ever, the 480 is the worse GPU.

Actually they are better now. XFX GT 480's use less power than a GTX 1060 and thus less heat and better overclocking potential.
