What are /g/'s thoughts on the Chromebook pixel? Planning

I wish I had bought the 2nd gen when Google still sold them. Hopefully they release the 3rd gen this next year.

I currently have the 1st gen. It is a great web browser, but the battery is like ~4 hours.

nope. Google discontinued the Pixel line of Laptops and focuses on phones now.
They will leave the chromebook manufacturing to Asus and the other shitty companies

How are Chromebooks in general? I'm in the UK looking for a laptop for my mom of up to 200-300 quid, she only really needs it for browsing and the occasional word document, it won't have the storage she wants for photos too, does Google offer a load of online storage with these?

It's basically a Macbook with crippled hardware, worse battery life and close to useless OS while not being noticeable cheaper. If you want to play Linux vidya on a laptop, get something that costs less. Or the real deal.

Now that's what Chromebooks are for. Although cloud version of Word sucks dicks.
Google offer unlimited storage for photos unless the resolution is crazy high.
