Alright /g/ I currently have a 970, is it worth it upgrading to 4k and a 1080 for black friday? I should have around 700$ free cash and be able to get a 1000$ if I take some extra shifts at work
Or should I get a lower card and a 144hz widescreen?
Honestly dont buy a 1080 right now wait for the 1080ti and get that or because the 1080 will price drop. And personally Id get a 1440p 144hz Gsync monitor 4k is overrated.

whats a good card that will get 60+ on 1440p then?
>>57637161
doesn't exist
they're all overpriced, and will be worthless when the new rebrands release next year.
For 4K gaming you'll need a GTX 1080 Ti, you'll have to wait until it's officially launched

you either buy a cheap 1080 now
or wait for the 1080ti which will be 20% faster and you will pay out of your ass for it.
your choice

>cheap 1080

thanks pals, hopefully think ill go with 144hz 1070 unless I see some kickass cyber monday deals or something for the 1080
>>57637048
>4k and a 1080
If you want 4K you need 1070 SLI at least, 1080 SLI doesn't hurt either. With a single 1080 you'd be looking 30-40FPS in demanding games, even without any expensive AA, or no AA at all.

If gaming is your main priority you should go for 1440p 144hz Gsync instead like >>57637105
said. A 1070 or 980 Ti will be good enough for that but the extra power of a 1080 wouldn't be wasted.

Black friday/thanksgiving week sales can be really good.
