so i'm trying to replace conio.h with ncurses.h alotted i've been using ubuntu for the last two years and i just decided to start working with c/c++ more lately.

anyone care to go out of their way to show me how to use ncurses variant of getch(); im beginning to think its just plain fucking broken.
i.e
int x = getch();
or
string x = getch();
just crashes program.
even if i declare x earlier on it still shits on me.

Any anon willing to help, it'd be much appreciated.
