There used to be millions and millions and millions of teenagers and college students sitting around making these sorts of nifty things you could download to make your computer a little bit cooler. No longer. They have grown up and moved on, and none are coming along to take their place because desktop PCs are dying and the kids just play with their phones now. And those phones are walled gardens with limited access to this sort of tinkering.

Well, anyone competent enough to actually do a good job of it also knows they would sued to eternity by Microsoft the second they even thought of publicly releasing it.
