>have my laptop fan replaced
>apparently the service guy also disconnected its keyboard completely because I had my keys removed and some of them didn't work
>he turned this stupid fucking light around the touchpad for an unknown reason
>the only way to disable it is fn + spacebar
>usb keyboard doesn't have fn key
>try on-screen keyboard
>nope
>try some shit software for remapping keys
>nope
>find something about substituting function keys for fn in bios
>still doesn't work
reeee what do I do /g/ now I can't watch anything without having this bright square reflected on my screen

holy shit i have the same laptop as you for ~5 years. thanks for finally telling me how to turn off the touchpad light!
>>57593210
How could you have not known that? It's so incredibly annoying.
>>57593139
Just open it up and desolder the LEDs.
>buying shit hardware
thinkpad or bust
>>57593425
I think this is what it's going to eventually come to.
>>57593425
dont even need to desolder, just snip the fucking wire
>>57593537
Assuming there is an obvious wire that is running to them, sure.
>>57593139
Just put some tape over it.
Sure, it's a ghetto as fuck solution and will look terrible, but it's easy and cheap, that's implying you don't use the touchpad.
>>57593139
I'd worry more about the non functioning keys.
Just reconnect the keyboard or get the right part to replace the keyboard. It's a relatively easy thing to do in most computers. It's usualy just connected by a ribbon.
>>57594058
I'm using an usb keyboard anyway.
>>57594029
My current solution is to lock it, which limits it to a red light at the very top of it, which I cover up with a keyboard. Still suck though.
