I cannot find a proper answer to this, but will I have problems if I buy a second set of identical RAM? Some say yeah yeah crashes, and others go BUUTT EXTREMELY RARE! LIKE ONCE EVERY THREE MONTH!
Some say not worth it at all waste of money, others say the benefit faaaaaar outweigh the chance of failure.

Even 2-3 months after W10 launched 1/2 of these threads were full of W10 posters, as the free year went on it only increased.

And honestly unless you're doing some james bond type shit I can't blame them, free upgrade to a faster OS with DX12 support and a GUI interface they already know.

The uber nerds will continue running XP, linux, or occasionally W7. But everyone else doesn't care.

I went with W10 because Skylake refuses anything below 8.1 to even install. Has to do with Win7 not having a bunch of different drivers during the install. (m.2 nvme, USB 3, etc). Not to mention that regardless of what those /g/ say, a good majority play games. DX12, game selection, etc.

I didn't take the free upgrade as I've been pirating Windows forever and didn't want to risk being flagged in MS servers as such trying to go for an upgrade. W10 Pro 64-bit is actually the first Windows I've ever bought. Didn't want any fuck ups. Privacy settings set up so I'm sending as little data as possible back to MS. If they are watching, all they'll see is I play a lot of open world games, edit video and the only major servers I down/upload from is steam.

All important work is done on my Linux partition anyway.

I upgraded from an illegal copy of windows 7 the first day W10 upgrade was available, it activated instantly and i've been running a genuine copy of W10 every day since for over a year now.

Eh it was more of a "why not"? thing. I just spent $750 for new tech (6700k, ROG z170 board, 32GB ddr4), why not buy legit windows? It's a one time purchase, and a platform I use almost everyday. Kind of like how I am with apps on my phone. If I use it everyday, why not buy the pro version?

I agree, W10 is much faster overall desktop experience with an SSD over W7 or 8.1 as well. Just generally snappier.
