Why would anyone buy a Mac product for work instead of a desktop? Assuming it never leaves the desk.

Why is S&M a thing? Why would anybody let niggers fuck their wife and enjoy filming it? It is the world we are living today...
>>
>>57568137
>Assuming it never leaves the desk.
They do tho
>>
>>57568137
>Assuming it never leaves the desk.
Why would you assume this. My employer bought me a MBP, and I bring it with me all the time. It's even the computer I use at home.
>>
>>57568281
>>57568279
Okay even in that scenario, the new MBP with cucked USB C ports would be a bad option.
>>
>>57568290
Well, I have an rMBP from mid 2014, but why would it be a bad option? I need to carry a bunch of adapters for ethernet, VGA, DVI anyway, why would I care about the end that goes into the Mac and if they are thunderbolt or lightning or USB C?
>>
>>57568137
If there were Thunderbolt 2 docks that had gigabit Ethernet, HDMI, TB passthrough, USB 3.0 (Type A), and analog audio (3.5 mm in/out), you can bet there will be TB3 docks with those and more (charging, for one).
>>
>>57568290
You've said mac product not the latest macbookpro
>>57568299
Mine is 2012 and I don't carry all that stuff, only the ehternet and not always, where on earth do they still use non-HDMI monitors ?
>>
>>57568324
>where on earth do they still use non-HDMI monitors ?
It's not for monitors, it's for projectors. Every single conference I've attended and presented stuff at, except one, only had projectors with VGA input. Only one had DVI.
>>
>>57568137
Because it's a great laptop for industrial video production.

Look. Maybe some of you people enjoy messing around with unoptimized and difficult to use operating systems made by neckbeards in their basement but some of us live in the 21st century
>>
Some people are dumb and gay like that.
>>
>>57568345
Like Windows? If you want your precious macOS, you do realize that you could just install it on any laptop or desktop that has good components instead of apple branded chink shit.
>>
>>57568345
>some hr asshole actually thinks people will be able to concentrate and focus on work while doing this.
>>
DONGLES ALL THE WAY BRAH
>>
I saw one of those yesterday. The touchbar looks really bad and out of place on the machine and its damn-near useless except for impressing retards. The F-row died for this.
>>
>>57568137
Shilling, brotha
>>
Mac only software. Also a work laptop never stays in one place.
>>
Hot desking.
Days of the personal cubicle are over.
>>
>>57568336
but surely you only need that WHEN you're doing a presentation
>>
>>57568137
Dell is not any better. I have to use a docking station at work to connect two DVI monitors. For chists sake it's 2016. Why don't they finally make laptops with two DVI ports.
>>
>>57568137
Show me a desktop that allows you to connect 8 4k montors at 60hz.
>>
>there are people who buy laptops that are designed to thermal throttle for video production, making them much worse than a desktop counterpart

lmao fucking retards

>buy beautifully designed macbook with clean minimal design
>ruin it with flashy stickers

Why do people do this?
>>
>>57573441
>beautifully designed
>macshit

Good joke.

At least cover up the huge glowing "i love taking it in the ass" emblem with some duct tape, it would be a massive improvement.
>>
>>57568428
I only can learn fast if i walk around. I use linux tho.
>>
>>57573441
The left one is funny. The design is boring as everything "minimal".

>>57573649
The new mbp don't have glowing logo.
>>
>>57568345
That's the most rich white Silicon Valley techie thing I've ever seen
>>
>>57568137
>Assuming it never leaves the desk.
The last place I worked issued me a laptop. Then they insisted that I take it home with me every night instead of leaving it at my desk, because someone might steal it. Why they couldn't have gotten me a desktop instead I'll never know.
>>
>>57568137
>a mac product
>a desktop
These two things aren't mutually exclusive. Are you some kind of retard?
>>
>>57568137
Macs are getting more popular here in my Earth Science department. I mean, 99% of our work is just ssh-ing into various nodes on the cluster and do our stuff there, and for that we tend to fire up NX on Windows clients.

It's simply easier and more convenient to work on MacOS, ssh-ing with -X directly from there (no need for NX) and not having to go through fucking Windows.
>>
>>57572367
Yes, but I just carry that around in my backpack otherwise I'd lose them. My point was, I don't care if my adapter is thunderbolt or usb c, I need an adapter anyway.

It's not boring. I actually got excited when I saw it first time in the store. No unnecessary details. Just a cleanly machined metal shape. And the new space grey color looks really good. Not annoyingly bright like silver, not boring like black.
>>
>>57568345
kek. even this deluded wench is sensible enough to use a 2012 MBP with optical drive.
>>
>>57574785
It is called Putty.
