Does anyone here use slackware as their daily driver?
If so what do you like and dislike about it?

It's great except when you want to compile software with tons of deps like ffmpeg.
That being say, it's still better than the usual Ubuntu/Mint trash.

Why is that?

I just use the one from alien bobs repo.

I install ffmpeg because of mpv and mpd, so I don't need to compile any dependency

Besides, all the dependencies you see on slackbuilds.org are optional dependencies. Slackware already comes with all the dependencies you would need to compile ffmpeg.
How do you manager packages from sbo?
I use git, clone the whole sbo tree and don't commit local changes.

Briefly back in like...2005 or something. Switched to Debian, have been happy since.
