I'm about to pull the trigger on this one. Is there any reason not to buy the EVGA SuperNOVA G3?

Is there any better 1000W PSUs out there for the price?

First, take a step back and question if you really need a 1000w PSU.
>>
what do you need a 1000 watt psu for?
>>
>>57558753
I really need a 1000W PSU. It's gonna be used in a dual socket, dual GPU workstation.

holding up extremely well
>>
>>57558792
Why is EVGA shit?

>10 year warranty
>Japanese capacitors

Also, I need 2x 8-pin CPU connectors + 1x 4pin CPU connectors because I have an EPS dual socket motherboard.

The EVGA G3 seems to be getting rave reviews.
>>
>>57558889
if youre gonna need a 1000w power supply you should always go for the best
evga is like the shittiest 1000w+ option, one step above used server power supplies
>>
>>57558909
What are the top 3 1000W PSUs anon?

Also, by what metric are they measured?

Enlighten me senpai.
>>
>>57558950
seasonic is #1 but theyre fuckingexpensivemate
bequiet is #2 because of german perfectionism
corsair is #3 because theyre really high quality, although extremely expensive too

measured by reviews and brand history, seasonic being well known as the king of quality power supplies, bequiet being well, german, and corsair being tried and true as high quality across their entire lineup

evga tends to have alot of doa units and has piss poor manufacturer quality control

but the idea here is, if youre going to get a really nice power supply, get the nicest you can afford

its like, you have a choice between a ford limo and a rolls royce, a ford limo is gonna be fine, its a still a limo, gets the job done
but the rolls royce is a rolls fucking royce

The Seasonic Platinum Series 1000 is 5 years old at this point. A lot have happened to PSU tech in 5 years anon.

>bequiet is #2 because of german perfectionism

Their 1000W PSU have a Limited Warranty period of 5 years. Don't they have faith in their product to last more than 5 years?

Who is "Jonnyguru"? Is it another one of those Tek Syndicate or LinusTT things?

be quiet! Dark Power Pro 10 and be quiet! Dark Power Pro 11 are solid. The others are not. They're not the best, but they're not the worst either. No reason to go be quiet! over more reputable brands.

>>57559275
>Delta is #2
You can't really say this. The only thing I can say about Delta power supplies is that they're always safe. However, since they're a contractor, they will build things down to a price. The average shitbox Delta power supply is going to be barebones last decade stuff. But the stuff contracted for high end systems like workstations or servers is pretty damn skookum.

>Max Power Consumption: 150 W

I use 2x overclocked AMD 280Xs @250W each.

My CPUs requore 270W.

So that's 770W for GPUs+CPUs alone.

My motherboard + 16 ram sticks draw roughly 100W.

I have 8 3,5" HDDs and 2 SSDs, they draw roughly 70W.

So that's 940 W.

I highly doubt your motherboard and DIMMs are using 100W. What CPUs do you have?

I have the G2. It's excellent apart from it's size.

I have 16 DDR3 DIMMs @3W each, and I put in 50W for the MB just to be safe. I have 2x CPU fans and 4x 120mm fans @2W or so each.

I use 2x E5-2690V3

Never had a single problem with pic related. I'm only running an i7-6700k and single 980TI right now but back in the day I was using an AMD FX-9370 @ 5.5ghz and dual r9 290X's. Both 290X's were BIOS modded with LN2 BIOS to allow for more than 1.4v. Running a benchmark would usually top the voltage read out at around 900 watts. Bought this PSU when it first released. So figure what? 5-6 years ago?
