The UK has just passed a law making it legal for security services to hack into your devices and view pretty much everything you do online, and forces ISPs to keep a comprehensive 12 month history of every site you visit, every app and software update you download, every message you send etc

Tor + Bridge (Tor Project blocked? Find one of the many mirrors, verify with GPG (download the key using public wifi))

Tor + AWS bridge is litterally bulletproof. If you wanted you could even further obfuscate it by running your own VPN on a VPS in romania bought with tumbled BTC.

UK seems to enjoy pointless laws that invade normal people's privacy while doing nothing to people who either:

Want to have some privacy
Or actual criminals.

Internet crime is unavoidable. Period. Nothing (zero) can be done to stop it. (At least not in the west, and certain parts of the east)

I used to browse /int/ regularly, and I thought it was just memes until I kept seeing posts about how it is to have a TV

I know you need TV licenses down there, but apparently people get harassed simply for having a TV without a license, even if they only use streaming services. Can you imagine having to justify your purchases to someone?

Fuck, not even that - can you imagine someone actively monitoring you to determine whether or not you are paying for that cable? Also

TV licences are the tax which funds the BBC, the greatest broadcaster on the planet. If you skip out on paying, it's basically the same as downloading shit off the Internet; it's definitely a crime, however minor. And they never used to care about streaming; it's just that so many people stopped buying TVs and just watching things on iPlayer that it was cutting into the money they received, so they asked to have the law changed.

And like other people have said, the laws to actually enforce the TV licence law are very much on your side. They probably won't send anyone round to make sure you don't have a TV, and if you do, you can just tell them to go away and not let them into your house.

Channel 4's online service can fuck off, though. They want you to create a profile so they can monitor you and cuck you out of the money that your personal information is worth. Fuck them. That's the only time I actually pirate anything.

You forgot to mention school district was rightfully sued to shit by the parents afterwards. The closest comparison between the UK and USA in regards to surveillance is the activities taken by the NSA program. While the NSA program is an egregious violation of privacy/human rights GCHQ is agreed upon to be a much worse offender as it has even less oversights.

Now the Snoopers Charter is law in the UK, we are no longer a free country. The Conservative Government has done what Hitler failed to achieve. The UK is dead.

THE INVESTIGATORY POWERS BILL (IP Bill), which has been some 10 years in the making in various forms, has been passed by Parliament.

The so-called Snoopers' Charter was passed by the House of Lords today following a final debate examining various amendments.

The Bill will therefore become law within weeks, legalising a number of secret service activities that were ruled unlawful only in October.

>Why I should be scared?
Because Obama is handing the NSA to him in January.

I'm not saying it was okay for Obama to have expanded and be in control of these mass surveillance programs. It's not okay for anyone. It's probably the greatest mistake of his administration and I hope people don't forget about it when remembering Obama. But honestly, at the moment I trust Obama with it more than Trump. In the past Trump has expressed approval for even more surveillance.

But I guess we'll see how it goes in the next four years.

The scope of "illegal shit" is much wider for bongs

You can be jailed if the courts find your porn just a bit too nasty ("BY THE QUEEN, LOOK, HIS PENIS IS FULLY ERECT, YOU THREAT TO SOCIETY YOU"), or your 4chan posts too "hateful", and having porn of hatsune miku is legally equivalent to having perv pics taken in an elementary school's girl's bathroom no matter how big her tits and ass are drawn

My best idea for networking in the modern age is to layer equipment/software from multiple agencies.
Take some NSA backdoored hardware and pass that through some russian backdoored hardware.
An attacker would need to know both the russian and NSA backdoors, and there is no way those two countries would reveal their secrets to each other.

Of course the one weakness is that the NSA could just find holes in the equipment the old fashioned way, but it's a way to establish that you don't have a your ass flapping in the wind on purpose.

TV licensing have no power whatsoever, all these posters and the rumor of detection vans (it says on their website "we don't release statistics for the effectiveness of detection vans as this may alter their effectiveness" - something like that, it's basically all a ruse) are just propaganda to make evaders buy a license.

They have as much power as a door-to-door salesman and have to take your word as true unless they have good reason to believe you aren't being truthful e.g. they can see you watching live tv through your front window, having a satellite dish etc.

>be me

Italy here, similiar situation for national tv network (RAI) , if you have a tv antenna you should pay an annual tax of ~100€
The main problem here is the copious amount of ads on RAI channels and the low quality of the tv shows. A Netflix account cost less and offer way more than that.
Legend says that if you don't pay, they can take your tv away, and even if you don't have a tv you could still watch their channels on their website so you have to pay anyway.

I don't think Britain is the most watched as in their tv is watched the most, I think he means Britain's politics and culture are scrutinised like a car bomb. Sure, America can be considered more watched by some standards, but if you look at the variety of things that the world looks for in culture and politics, Britain beats America (Trump and Clinton count as one part of politics).
However, let's entertain your misconception of anon's wording:

British media is not the most watched since the quantity of our shows is nothing compared to America's - and that's not even mentioning countries like India or China.
However, our shows are the most loved since we constantly push out the best shows (for normies). The only other shows that come close to popularity is probably Game of Thrones.

>All the retards and libcucks ITT

Listen you faggots. I don't think the police care what porn you're looking at or whether you searched up how to hack the NSA a couple of weeks back.
They only care once you commit a crime if all cases point to you committing a crime; if the latter you'll get put through a court case, and a court system, which most likely sees no point of you being there and will most likely set you free after an hour of scrutiny. On the chance you do get arrested, it's probably because you were actually going to commit a crime due the overwhelming amount of evidence against you - or you'll just get your case reviewed after much debacle from libfags like you lot.
>>

Besides, Britain has rights - but not the kind you think. And having no constitution doesn't mean you have no rights, nor does it mean we'll be a dictatorship. In fact, the reason why Britain has no constitution is because it's the oldest surviving democracies in the world - and no one had constitutions back then.
Our rights are rooted in tradition and social principles and facts - facts a non-Brit, like yourself, could only dream of comprehending.

>final year of secondary school, we were all 15/16 at the time
>the school ran an email service for the students
>some weeb started sending hentai vids to people and asking if they wanted more
>eventually he started sending loli instead of just 'adult' hentai
>the end

Don't all schools run some sort of email server?

It's really sad that the vast majority refuses to use encryption and really do say things like "I have nothing to hide". Fine, let me put webcsms in every room in your house, then.

I do think Trump could pardon Snowden and drop charges agains assange because he does realize that Wikileaks essentially gave him his presidency.

So how do they get your data if you have a dynamic IP?

Also a part of me thinks this legislation will be barely enforced, if the UK government can't block TPB properly what compels them to police the internet?
>>
>>57558494
Your ISP will keep a record of the dynamic IP assignments.
>>
>>57558512

And after 12 months they just get rid of the shit they collected on you?

Well there's a 1 in 63,489,234 chance that I'm going to get snooped on plus the government can't do fuck all so I don't see why people are bricking it.

Lincoln was a power hungry warmongering faggot who ordered people who didn't want to go to for to get killed.
And he didn't really oppose slavery either.
>>
>>57558578

It's not a 1 in 63,489,234 chance. Remember - computers are involved. It takes seconds at most for them to screen everything you do online. Everything you say online. Everyone you associate with online.

Hope you never meme with anyone *too* edgy.

Move to eastern europe.
Or just use a VPN.
>>
>>57553855
How does that work? You send a request to a DNS the same way send any other data request. Unless there is some way to tell if a packet is a DNS request and your ISP discards it.
>>
>>57559225

UDP or TCP port 53.

Or deep packet inspection.
>>
>>57559311
Lame. Anyway to force it on another port with a DNS service that supports it?
>>
>>57559348

Tunnel it through a VPN.

so if a penis, being a symbol of male oppression, is associated with violence - does that mean all porn involving insertion of a penis into any orifice is illegal in the UK?

reading about this, it seems more like fiction or satire

I don't think it's sensationalism either at this point.

I think the chief fear of people that warned us of this approach towards dystopia was the banality of it all. That's definitely the most scary part in my opinion.
