Sure the SSDs have been removable, but they had proprietary firmware + proprietary connectors so it wasn't like you could upgrade them in the models before.

iirc the non-Retina models from 2012 and earlier had standard SATA SSDs that you can just replace as you wish

iirc the Retina 2013 model had a proprietary SSD, but that has been reverse-engineered by some company who charged a shit-ton for upgrade prices, but if you wanted to, you could get it done

anything after that had proprietary drives + proprietary connectors that haven't been reverse engineered by anyone so you could pull them out but literally do nothing else. not replace, not rescue data, etc.

why do applefags actually think the macbook "pro" is a device for "professional" work?
