I don't even use IE and never have and got some "PUP" that appeared in the registry for IE only which were indicative of an Ask toolbar. Trend Micro never found anything, I ran MBAM premium for the first time and it found those. Nothing else and I've never once had threat detected in Trend Micro. What happened? Or is it anything to be concerned over?

Have both installed so that makes sense, sounds like a simple enough explanation. Thanks. I didn't think they were malicious or Trend Micro likely would have caught them. But MBAM is right, Ask toolbar is AIDS.

A couple people on their negative feedback list claim they paid $60 and sent it in and then the guy asked for thousands of dollars to do the repairs after getting it. So yeah, I wouldn't.

If it's an external hard drive that died though you may want to try ripping it out of the enclosure it's in, there may still be a perfectly good hard drive inside that you can install in your case or another enclosure.

My mom's Palm Pixi Plus's touchscreen stopped working, so I searched about it online and apparently it's a common problem.
The suggested solution was to wave it against a tube TV so that the phone gets zapped by all the static. I was amazed to discover it started working again, but sadly only for a few minutes.
So what is the actual problem here and what did the static do to make the touchscreen responsive again?

It was clearly put in the listing by accident, it's not what I wanted to sell. I already showed him the car he was meant to get and he refuses to take it saying it's not the car he paid for, and I can't give his money back since I already spent it.

I just bought a hueg Samsung TV for my bedroom, where I also have my computer.

The current layout is pic related, but I haven't yet decided on how to set everything up optimally.

Right now I have set the TV as an extension of the monitor via DisplayFusion, but it's kind of awkward to use it like this because if I want to set something to play on the secondary monitor, I have to turn my head 90 degrees to the left.

Is an android box the answer? Any other ideas to make it more comfy?

I mostly want to stream jewtube, Twitch and to watch movies. Occasionally maybe play some games with a gamepad.

I'm looking into making a awesome my default session for slim. (This is for debain 8)

As I understand it, the normal way to be about this should be to
-hash the "session" line in /etc/slim.conf
-put "exec awesome" in .xinitrc

But it doesn't seem to work.

As tests, it turns out that even if I move all but the awesome.desktop files from /usr/share/xsessions, I still need to use F1 in the login screen to make awesome the session I'll log into- otherwise, slim loads gnome by default.

So that means somewhere is defined that gnome is my default xsession.

I don't know where, however. Anyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Ok, so I actually took a class with LabSim and everything for the 220-801 and 220-802, but I heard those certification tests were deprecated by the 901 and 902.
I heard the 901 and 902 are mostly different from the 801 and 802 by some Linux stuff.

Assuming I have a cram guide for the 801 and 802, what would I need to supplement for the 901 and 902 test?
How much Linux?

I know some of the basics of the *NIX family, and I have an SD Card boot of FreeBSD on an old laptop.
So....
Is there a list, or should I just buy a cram guide for the 901 and 902 and spend more money?
Alternatively, is there a quick list of commands I would need to specifically know?

Or, is there more differences than those I listed?

I just switched to Comcast and hate the new router. What routers are good and how would I go about replacing this one?

>>
>>57539628
log into your modem, turn off the broadcast. Get some good router from Best Buy, and plug that into the modem.
I did that for a while.
Comcast sucks shit, btw. Why'd you get them? Did they bribe your town to keep other companies out, like Verizon with FiOS?

Comcast = evil

Anyway, for a router, I recommend the best ur NIC can support. A good dual-band 2.4GHz/5.0GHz router is the best option.
Since you probably have a smartphone, the 2.4 is usually necessary.
But, your computer might support different connections. I recommend getting one with 5.0 ANAC protocols (A, N, and AC). N on both 2.4 and 5 is pretty common, but newer NICs support AC, which is hella good, famalam.
Alternatively, if your NIC supports AD, and u DON'T mind spending sum extra munie, go for a router that has AD standard.

- yes, you can run a fan off these wires
- the colors are wrong, yellow is 12v, red is 5v, green is only used once in a computer, and it's the ATX soft power enable line (shorting it to ground fully powers on the PSU)
- you can in most cases control fans in software by attaching them to a dedicated fan header on the motherboard, which may be preferable
- you can get ready made boards that control a fan to target a temperature, which may help, pic related

I've had a 1070 and can't get 60fps at all despite having good specs. The framerate looks identical to when I had no video card and used onboard graphics(30fps looks identical to supposed 60fps) despite Shadowplay claiming I get 60fps. But when seeing footage or gifs if 60fps, there is a dramatic difference in the fluidity of movement.

I made a thread on r/Nvidia and the someone just said it was input lag and called it a day. Is it possible there's some weird incompatibility with my monitor? It's a 60Hz Led TV used as a monitor using the HDMI connection, but apparently some monitors have a higher refresh rate if using the Display Port instead of HDMI.

Would it be better to run my DDR3 regECC RAM at 1333 MHz with 9-9-9-24 timings, or at 1600 MHz with 11-11-11-29 timings?

On paper the former seems better (and it's officially rated as “1333 MHz” anyway), but since it's registered/buffered ECC I wonder if I shouldn't be adding 1 to the CAS latency

If that's the case, then 1600 MHz at “CL12” would be faster than 1333 MHz at “CL10” on paper.

How do I get a new IP address from comcast?

From what I understand, the only way to get a new IP is to get a new mac address for your modem, but comcast's modem mac address cannot be changed.

But third party modems copy the mac address of your router or PC, whatever is plugged into it? And changing your IP would be as simple as changing your router's or device's mac address?

Anyway I'm ready to buy a modem. I just want to make sure this is correct, and I want some guarantee that the modem I buy can easily change mac addresses as described above.

>>
Is really C# better than C++, or is it a meme?
>>
>>57542828
Palemoon is a dead-end fork. At best it's a useful stop-gap measure while you transition to a different browser. It receives no real update / backports from upstream firefox, and the more it ages the more it will become bitrotten and incompatible with the web of the future.

I have it installed as a fallback for stuff that doesn't work well in qutebrowser yet, but that's about it. I wouldn't recommend anybody use it as a daily driver.
>>
>>57542828
pale moon is decent if you're running a computer with really low specs.
Firefox with e10s is actually very fast and responsive. Try using dev or nightly and you'll notice the difference.

I'd also recommend checking out iridium or chromium, since those are foss and a bit faster than non e10s ff.

I don't know about comcast or the US way of doing it but if you're talking about being issued a new static WAN IP address as someone who works for an ISP and does this often, all you should need to do is request a static IP from your provider then when it's confirmed just log into the router and change the network settings from obtain IP automatically to your issued IP.

android:id="@+id/editText"
android:title="@string/the_title"
app:showAsAction="always"
app:actionViewClass="android.support.v7.widget.SearchView"/>

I just want it to span across the menu with space for a button, but I can't seem to find anything online about it...

There doesn't seem to be any way of changing its width from the menu .xml file

So i got a car with a CDR 4600 (Ford), no BT/USB but it has a handsfree function thru a RJ11 port near the handbreak (i suppose it's RJ11 as the manual says shit and i suppose it's not proprietary), i was thinking of doing a rj11 to 3,5mm mini plug cable (still don't know which cable of the rj11 goes into the TRRS mini plug) and connect my phone there to listen some music thru the car system, is it completely stupid or someone already tried it and made it work? Google say nothing as the only advice is "buy another radio", but this one work fine and i don't plan to change it, specially when i can't even resell it as it worth almost nothing.

What'd be the best way to print a table of a set of values ranging from lowest to highest?
I'm doing a quiz game and trying to make a method that prints a table of the questions from least-correctly-answered to most-correctly-answered. I've tried two different ways and the only one I've gotten any progress with is making two arrays in a method that sort through the values of the questions and matches them with the names of the questions.

You need the drivers for your storage device, which most likely means you need Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers. If you have access to another computer, and you're installing Windows from a USB. Stop the current installation, stick that usb in another computer, download this shit and put it on the USB drive somewhere. Make sure to unzip it and everything.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26361/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-RAID-Driver?product=55005

Then when you're at that screen again, click load driver, find the file that you downloaded and load it up. Should recognize your drive.

i keep getting hardlocks and blue screens and i am trying to rule out certain things and in my adventures i just saw that my temps are over the place. if i go to speccy, says my mobo temps at 70C idel, if i look at the motherboard temps in the bios screen it says 29C. so i pulled up CPUID monitor and im seeing that my motherboard ( and cpu for that matter ) has multiple temperatures for different things

so what the fuck am i lookin at here? is any of this too high and if so how can i go about fixing it?

Have any of you had weird experiences with Microsoft customer support?

I just needed to fix something with a product key and the guy in chat told me he needed to take control of my PC to fix it.

I agreed and he went to my desktop, opened a new text document, told me to pretend to appreciate his service in the official microsoft chat and give him a five star rating, then just gave me a new product key...

Like what the fuck? Am I about to get raped irl?

Bit of a story.
My gpu died recently and I tried to temporarily replace it with an older model it being the Asus Radeon R7 260, now here comes the problem. after uninstalling my previous drivers and installing the drivers delivered with the card itself I'd get a black screen after the windows starting screen. So, I uninstalled the drivers again and downloaded the most recent ones online and installed those, resulting in the same problem. Resigning myself I decided to just use the card without drivers, since that worked fine, albeit limiting display quality ofcourse for the time being. This was fine however 2 days after such use I'd gotten a bsod randomly and now I have no display on start up at all, even when plugging my monitor directly into the motherboard's port. I've been running win7 sp1 to clarify. Now, buying a new card on the short term might be a problem as hardware sales are still some time away and I would like to hold out so I can save some money.
TL;DR
Asus Radeon R7 260 on win7sp1 no display at all, any tips?

A girl I've been flirting with wants me to hack her to figure out where she is. Blame Mr Robot for this bizarre form of courtship.

What's the best way to do this? So far I've tried 'nikto -h www.facebook.com' and 'netstat an' to track her IP but she's connected to the university wifi network, so looking up the IP coords just directs me to the server center. I could wait until she goes home and get that IP but I want to find her today. I'm thinking of getting behind TOR and cracking her student account password so I can find her through her course schedule. Any ideas?

What places can you go to find "rare", old hardware?

I'm trying to find a really old motherboard and a mouse from 2005. I knew obviously that no retailers would carry them, but there's nothing on Amazon, Ali, Ebay, or even Craigslist.

I say rare because they're impossible for me to find, their worth is pretty much minimal.

Can someone help me? I have a 2007 iMac with 10.5.8 (I know it's old, but upgrading isn't worth it atm, getting a new device soon). Watching vids on Youtube and streaming sites is fine, haven't had any major problems in the past despite using old browsers and an old flash player version. Is there any way to fix this without upgrading the OS to upgrade the flash player and browser? I just wanna fap ffs.
