I just bought a hueg Samsung TV for my bedroom, where I also have my computer.

As I understand it, the normal way to be about this should be to
-hash the "session" line in /etc/slim.conf
-put "exec awesome" in .xinitrc

As tests, it turns out that even if I move all but the awesome.desktop files from /usr/share/xsessions, I still need to use F1 in the login screen to make awesome the session I'll log into- otherwise, slim loads gnome by default.

So that means somewhere is defined that gnome is my default xsession.

Since you probably have a smartphone, the 2.4 is usually necessary.
But, your computer might support different connections. I recommend getting one with 5.0 ANAC protocols (A, N, and AC). N on both 2.4 and 5 is pretty common, but newer NICs support AC, which is hella good, famalam.
Alternatively, if your NIC supports AD, and u DON'T mind spending sum extra munie, go for a router that has AD standard.

I've had a 1070 and can't get 60fps at all despite having good specs. The framerate looks identical to when I had no video card and used onboard graphics(30fps looks identical to supposed 60fps) despite Shadowplay claiming I get 60fps. But when seeing footage or gifs if 60fps, there is a dramatic difference in the fluidity of movement.

I made a thread on r/Nvidia and the someone just said it was input lag and called it a day. Is it possible there's some weird incompatibility with my monitor? It's a 60Hz Led TV used as a monitor using the HDMI connection, but apparently some monitors have a higher refresh rate if using the Display Port instead of HDMI.

AMD drivers regardless of version have been crashing albeit somewhat rarely ever since I got my new R9 Nano card. I also sometimes get minor artifacts in games. today my monitor lost signal after idling on the desktop a while, I had to reset the computer. is my card fucked? should I just RMA already?

I press the power button, get a flash of green (the power LED, usually a steady green), the fans spin up for a split second and then nothing.

Curiously enough, it's only an intermittent problem.

Not confirmed it but it seems as though it seems to happen if the PC has been powered down for a while.

How do I get a new IP address from comcast?

From what I understand, the only way to get a new IP is to get a new mac address for your modem, but comcast's modem mac address cannot be changed.

But third party modems copy the mac address of your router or PC, whatever is plugged into it? And changing your IP would be as simple as changing your router's or device's mac address?

Palemoon is a dead-end fork. At best it's a useful stop-gap measure while you transition to a different browser. It receives no real update / backports from upstream firefox, and the more it ages the more it will become bitrotten and incompatible with the web of the future.

I have it installed as a fallback for stuff that doesn't work well in qutebrowser yet, but that's about it. I wouldn't recommend anybody use it as a daily driver.

I don't know about comcast or the US way of doing it but if you're talking about being issued a new static WAN IP address as someone who works for an ISP and does this often, all you should need to do is request a static IP from your provider then when it's confirmed just log into the router and change the network settings from obtain IP automatically to your issued IP.

Bit of a story.
My gpu died recently and I tried to temporarily replace it with an older model it being the Asus Radeon R7 260, now here comes the problem. after uninstalling my previous drivers and installing the drivers delivered with the card itself I'd get a black screen after the windows starting screen. So, I uninstalled the drivers again and downloaded the most recent ones online and installed those, resulting in the same problem. Resigning myself I decided to just use the card without drivers, since that worked fine, albeit limiting display quality ofcourse for the time being. This was fine however 2 days after such use I'd gotten a bsod randomly and now I have no display on start up at all, even when plugging my monitor directly into the motherboard's port. I've been running win7 sp1 to clarify. Now, buying a new card on the short term might be a problem as hardware sales are still some time away and I would like to hold out so I can save some money.
TL;DR

Are you sure you enabled displaying hidden files? Phones usually hide some of their folders.

What's the best way to do this? So far I've tried 'nikto -h www.facebook.com' and 'netstat an' to track her IP but she's connected to the university wifi network, so looking up the IP coords just directs me to the server center. I could wait until she goes home and get that IP but I want to find her today. I'm trying to find a really old motherboard and a mouse from 2005. I knew obviously that no retailers would carry them, but there's nothing on Amazon, Ali, Ebay, or even Craigslist.

I say rare because they're impossible for me to find, their worth is pretty much minimal.

I switched my graphics card from R9 390 to a 1070 and I wanted to change my Linux distro but upon installation of Fedora, my mouse doesn't work during installation. I tried to install Xubuntu and my mouse doesn't work either.

What could have happened for my mouse not to work during setup?

So, I have Xubuntu Xenial Xerus on my laptop and decided to HDMI extend screen between my laptop and my TV.
The next day, my I turn my laptop on and after i put my password in, the display shuts off and my screen is black.
I tried to put the HDMI back on the TV and the result is the same.
How do I unfuck my laptop display? My display only works on a guest account and I need my files.

Can someone help me? I have a 2007 iMac with 10.5.8 (I know it's old, but upgrading isn't worth it atm, getting a new device soon). Watching vids on Youtube and streaming sites is fine, haven't had any major problems in the past despite using old browsers and an old flash player version. But now I can't play vids on YouPorn and Pornhub for almost a week now. Before it wasn't a problem at all.

Is there any way to fix this without upgrading the OS to upgrade the flash player and browser? I just wanna fap ffs.
