I'm just saying: the thermal paste is designed to fill the air gaps in between the CPU and heatsink. If you put a blob in the middle, the heatsink will squish the paste around the CPU for you, creating an airtight seal. If you spread it first, the spread of paste will have air gaps in it, no matter how smooth your knife or how good your credit history is. So when you attach the heatsink, it won't create as good of a seal with the CPU, causing it to not transfer heat as effectively.

>he doesn't use the Hubble telescope mirror's smoothing machine to obtain a perfect flat cpu and heatsink surface
>he doesn't put a nut of paste and spread it evenly with a credit card

Their video on applying thermal paste is the best one on youtube btw.

I could agree with you. But squeezing the dot with the heatsink never gives you the best covered area. Never in history of technology it ever happened.

The core is in the very centre of the CPU. Things near edges are bloat that don't generate heat.
>he fell for the thermal paste meme
Pepsodent keeps your processor cool and with a fresh breath for one tenth of the price, losers.

Did a company actually release this as a how to? Are they trolling us?
