Just moved into a new apartment, currently setting up a new projector, realized I don't have speakers anymore.
The last two places I lived we picked up a set of Cerwin Vegas, but both times someone else bought and owned them and kept them when we moved out. CV's are great for loud music, but now I have an upstairs neighbor and can't pump it loud.
What brands should I be searching for on CL?
Looking for two towers and a receiver for mostly movies and TV, occasionally music during dinner parties, don't really give a shit about surround or having a sub.
Tower speakers are no more, get a bluetooth bar, goy

In my experience on CL, some sony speakers aren't bad for the price. Receivers tend to be hit or miss

Not looking for new speakers, Goldstein
Sony does alright, if you could find some Missions, I heavily recommend them.

Yeah, I have that center and two period full size towers. Check ebay to see if they'd be worth flipping. Looks like a good price.

Apparently these are god tier reference monitors.

I kinda doubt they'll be adequate in my 12' deep living room though.

Get a pair of these. Best you can do in the $200 range.

Why would I want analytical bookshelf speakers for watching Lord of the Rings on a 110"?
Serious question. Only reason I could see buying those would be for mixing at a desk.
