what the fuck do i do, do i just get a fresh install of W10 or W7? i got the W10-ISO through the official Microsoft-web page, or is something just broken?
specs;
i5-4670K @ 3.4ghz
Asus Strix GTX 970 4GB
2x4 gigs of RAM @ 1666mhz
2x SSD's (C-drive-one is 240GB and the other is 1TB for vidya)
1x WD 1TB Caviar Green-harddrive
>>57396505
Install Gentoo
>>57396505
W10 upgrade is fundamentally broken.
Either do a fresh install with anniversary edition iso, or go back to 7.
>>57396693
i've heard it's broken tho, never would have imagined that the official fucking installation-ISO would be this bad.
>>57396753
It pretends to install but really upgrades. No matter what option you select, you have a Windows.old
You gotta do a manual wipe.
>>57396505
>using ssd for vidya
you brought this on yourself
>>57396771
every single drive or just the main-drive? i dont wanna lose all my porn ffs
>>57396854
Just the Windows install drive.
It took me three of four tries to get a working W10 install. I think my mobo going bad may be part of the problem.
>>57396869
could the problem be in my motherboard?
i don't recall ever having to reinstall Windows 7 after a hard reset, just with W10
>>57396887
Nah, just sounds like a good old corrupted install. If it keeps happening maybe look at hardware.
>>57396959
I've reinstalled W10 like 4-5 times by this point
Should i look more into possible hardware-malfunctions?
>>57397087
Do a memtest. Resocket RAM.
>>57397087
Wait, you reinstalled windows from scratch and you are still getting the BSOD and error code?
>>57397184
yes.
should i just nuke the fucking computer and start from scratch or something
>>57397385
Follow what this guy says:
>>57397107
Open it up, resocket everything, then run memtest.
You are wiping the hard drive completely right? Deleting all the partitions?
>>57397446
formating is what you are talking about? through the installer? yes. that's what im doing.
