Can you guys give me some recommendations on a gaming pc build? I don't know a whole lot about it, but I've wanted to build one for a while
This is what I've selected so far:
AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor
MSI 970 GAMING ATX AM3+ Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2400 Memory
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB 6GT OC Video Card
Deepcool TESSERACT SW ATX Mid Tower Case
EVGA 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Now I'm wondering a few things. I've heard something about problems arising from using AMD processors with Nvidia graphics cards, is this going to pose a problem?
And does anyone have any recommendations or improvements they can share? Thanks in advance!

Don't be a massive faggot and buy a 8350 in the year of our lord two thousand sixteen, just get a 6600k

>psu overkill
>no cpu cooler
>gayming pc
>8 core amd cpu
>2400mhz ddr3 ram
assuming your budget is roughly the price of all those parts, I put a basic parts list together

I figured what's an extra 50 bucks for 2 more cores?
>>57391473
I was thinking the same thing about the power supply, i just figured why not have plenty extra. I'll probably switch it to a 650 watt
What's wrong with the other stuff though?
>>57391473
Oh and the cpu comes with a cooler. Should i get a cpu cooler anyways, just incase the one it comes with sucks?
>>57391276
Oh you meant the Intel one. Is it that much better?
>>57391597
stock coolers are okay, but I just think it'd be better to spend a little bit on an aftermarket cooler, which is why I added the 212 evo on the list. not the best, but for the price it's okay

8 cores on amd isn't better than an i5 6600k, and 8 cores is also not quite that good for gayming
and that ram is more expensive than it really needs to be, considering it's a 2x8gb kit - ddr3 is good from 1600+

What makes 8 cores bad for gaming? Because it is an extra hundred bucks for the i5
>>57391719
Go look up 8350 single threaded
I also get 10k on multi
Different anon, I have this older prebuilt from 2011/2012 my brother used to own. I can play pretty much whatever I want to play but I'd like to not have such old parts.
>i7 2600k
>8GB (2x4) ddr3
>AMD HD 6800 series
>1.8tb HDD
>650W PSU
Should I just build one up from scratch or save up and purchase a specific part? I was thinking about just replacing the GPU

I see what you mean now

GPU could definitely use an upgrade
maybe ram in the coming future, since games are getting more hungry for it
