oh well, this is frustrating. Even more so since I have no idea how to comfortably uninstall more than one application. git gud

Anon, looks like you installed the entire gnome package. Should've just installed gnome-desktop.
>>57386546
I figured.
>>57386566
to uninstall everything, can't you justsudo pacman -Rns gnome
>>57386486pacman -Rsun gnome
Hurrrrr
sudo pacman -Rsc gnome
>>57386486

Any of these should work, and thensudo pacman -S gnome-desktop
to get just the desktop, assuming that's what you're still wanting.
You'll also probably have to install a few other gnome apps to have a functioning desktop, like the control center. But you'll figure it out.
>>57386486
after you fix it, try KDE it just fits perfect on arch
You'll need gnome-shell nautilus gnome-tweak-tool gnome-control-center and xdg-user-dirs
the full gnome package is bloated as fuck
>>57386797
don't do it OP, Plasma is buggy as fuck

t. Gnome user
I prefer to use I3 over Gnome. It was a little odd adapting to a Window Manager over a full Desktop Environment but it's so fucking lightweight.
I3 is amazing you want to personalise things beyond compare and can take the time to delve into the config.
I've added about 150 or so lines to the config for it just to get the thing functioning exactly how I want it to.
>>57386815
Used to be buggy as fuck, but that improved a lot lately. Now it's just buggy.

Arch + cinnamon here. I agree with that guy, KDE is as unstable as it gets. Gnome 3 is complete garbage because developers do everything they can to make it shit. Only DE worth considering are cinnamon, xfeces and mate, everything else is trash. There is plenty of good WM however if someone doesn't mind this kind of thing.

How do you fix th GTK and QT themes.
Dolphin looks like shit and so does any GTK package
KDE as of 5.8 is pretty stable.
