I cloned my normal HD onto an SSD and tried to boot it.
Surprisingly, it didnt work and it asks for booting software.
I dont have the CD anyway, and the booting HD is from a laptop but because I changed to a desktop doesnt recognize anything and assumes its illegal. (this might be irrelevant.)
anyway how do I get it to boot from the SSD? Or is it easier to just buy a new OS and install that on the unobootable disk?
When looking at disk management I see that my main disk gets split in 2 parts, the OS and the rest, while my SSD is just one part.
Sorry for making a thread about it, but I tried looking on google and all I find is about windows 10 and I use 7.
Not only that but generally all the threads have dumb replies like "did you correctly clone it" and shit like that

Boot gparted and make IMG files of your two partitions separately using dd then partition the SSD and use the IMGs to restore each partition.

Use the windows 7 system image maker in backup (control panel) then use a Windows restore disc.
